The five young parishioners were chosen to take part in the Offertory procession at the mass celebrated by the Archbishop.

Father McKee said: “After a lapse of nine years it was a wonderful day for the parishioners to at last witness the Archbishop opening their church. It was their day and they deserve to enjoy it.”
The parish was founded in 1973 when the first Mass was celebrated in the parish on the Sunday before Christmas.
Building of the Church, which seats 300, began in 1981 and the first Mass was celebrated on the Sunday before Christmas last year.
The altar, the centre piece of the church will always serve to remind the people their church was built in the year the Pope visited Scotland.
The marble of the altar has as its centre piece a large portion of the papal altar from Bellahouston.

Special Date for Arden Mass December 1982
The Sunday before Christmas is a very special day in the history of St Louise parish, Arden.
On that day in 1973 the first Mass was celebrated in the parish and now this year on 19 December Parish Priest Fr. John McKee will celebrate the first Mass in their new Church.
The parish are looking forward to the occasion and being able to celebrate Christmas in their Church.
HAPPY
Although Mass will now be celebrated in the Church, work is still going on in the interior. It will not be officially opened until sometime in the New Year.
Parish Priest Father John McKee Said: “I did not know until last week that how important a date 19 December is to the Parish. I didn’t arrange for the first Mass to be on this date, it is just a very happy coincidence.”
The two statues shown below were donated by Fr Hill to Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, Cardonald when St Louise was closed. They continue to be on display in the school.
The statues were originally donated by the Coia family to St Louise Parish when it opened in 1983
